Photography has changed a lot in the last few decades. From darkrooms to smartphones. But there are still some people out there who are interested in analog photography and continue to practice it passionately. This includes photographer Friedjof Feye.
He was in Thessaloniki along with Nils Brauer and friends. The resulting images are all analog. Reason enough to let Fidi explain how to develop analog photos.

Open the film in the dark (like a bottle of beer) and wind it up on a spool. Then place the spool in the tank and close it tightly with a lid.

Turn on the lights. Add the properly tempered developer solution to the tank and let the film develop for 5 to 10 minutes (depending on film and developer). Dispose the used developer afterwards.

Now stop the development process by letting the stop bath into the tank.Wait and pour for 30-60 seconds.

Put the attached fixer into the can and fix the negative strip for 3-5 minutes. Later, flip the fixer back into its original containers.

Rinse the film thoroughly under running water and hang to dry.
All 5 steps require practice and patience. It’s helpful to use the same chemistry and film at the beginning to learn from mistakes. Have lots of fun with it!
